Albuquerque, NM, October 5, 2021– Keystone International, Inc. (Keystone) is celebrating its 30th year as a small business providing technical and organizational development expertise to local businesses and Federal organizations.

Keystone has gone through three transitions in ownership over the 30 years while continuing to bring top subject matter experts to some of the Nation’s most challenging problems. Keystone was started by former Secretary of the Air Force and New Mexico Congresswoman Heather Wilson in 1991. In 1995, Ms. Wilson’s key employee, Gary Van Valin, purchased the company from Ms. Wilson and established it as a veteran-owned, New Mexico-based corporation. Mr. Van Valin served as the President of Keystone until 2010 when Michelle Detry assumed the President role.

In July of 2021, Michelle Detry, President, and Beth Ulibarri, Chief Financial Officer, acquired shares held by Mr. Van Valin to transition Keystone to a women-owned company. Ms. Detry, Ms. Ulibarri and five other women are now the majority owners and hold the key leadership roles of the organization.

Keystone is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico and specializes in the areas of organizational development, project management and technical support services. Keystone provides a full range of management consulting, technical support and temporary help services designed to assist our clients when confronting the demands of limited resources, advancing technology, and a changing workforce. Keystone’s clients include the Department of Energy national laboratories, Air Force Research Laboratory, and a wide variety of small and large businesses, nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, Keystone will delay holding a celebration event.
