Conflict Resolution and Mediation
The potential for conflict exists in any organization. In fact, healthy conflict can be critical to addressing issues, affecting change, and inspiring growth; however, stress and differing attitudes, personalities, work styles and communication styles can easily contribute to miscommunications and misunderstandings in the workplace. Often times, people are not equipped with the communication skills needed to work through conflict. Keystone’s skilled coaches, facilitators and mediators have the expertise to guide disagreeing parties, whether groups or individuals, through conflict and impart the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully handle future conflicts.
When conflict is too big to be contained or improved through coaching or facilitation, mediation is the next step. Mediation is a negotiation process in which the disputing parties are assisted by a neutral third-party—a mediator. More specifically, mediation has structure, a timetable and dynamics that “ordinary” negotiation lacks. Mediators use various techniques to open or improve dialogue between disputants, aiming to help the parties reach an agreement.
Assessments and Tools
Assessing where you stand as an organization, a team, or an individual leader is often the first and most critical step in any organizational development effort, and, this is the step most overlooked by organizational decision makers and most consultants. Through interviews and focus groups, 360-degree feedback instruments, employee satisfaction surveys, and an array of customized tools, Keystone’s team can analyze and assess what needs to be done to take you where you want to go.
Keystone’s knowledge resources are certified and skilled to use a wide range of tools including, but not limited to:
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) ®
- FIRO-B ®
- DiSC ®
- Gallup CliftonStrengths™
- The Leadership Circle Profile (TLCP)™ and The Leadership Culture Survey™ (TLCS)
- The Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS®-II)
- Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)
